Advent: my journey through the moorland year. On the ‘bird’s road’ (rathad an isein, in Gaelic) I encountered wrens and skuas; hoodie crows and corbies; golden plovers and eagles; geese, gannets and guillemots; herons, flamingos; corncrakes and curlews.
