Marvelling at the intense colour when making jam with blackcurrants from my garden. In the peatlands similar big metal pots would simmer over peat fires with moor gathered lichens, crottal and plants to produce intense colours to dye the wool for weaving into tweed

Rain at last. The sphagnum mosses are doing whatever mosses do when they dance and sing with joy.
